Foxwood, Hampshire
Low carbon footprint for rural residential home
This is a new house in a superb rural location in Hampshire next to a large bluebell wood.
The design focuses on this special view opening up to the East of the house. The unusual bronze roof slopes up from the drive to cover the two-storey element of the house, which ensures all the primary rooms enjoy this wonderful view.
The design maximises morning solar gain to the East and with high performance glazing, minimises the carbon footprint of the house.
Combined with low U-values, air leakage rates, a heat recovery system, and underfloor heating, the design itself has a low carbon footprint.
