Paice Lane, Medstead
Low energy residential architecture
This project is is a replacement dwelling in the rural village of Medstead, Hampshire.
The site is on high ground with stunning views to the South and West.
This is a very low energy house, where most of the glass is arranged on these faces. This maximises the view from both the ground floor and the first floor balconies and solar gain. To avoid overheating, a large overhang shades the first floor and the balconies shade the ground floor spaces.
Part of the house is subterranean, with a garage tucked under the sitting room terrace, which enjoys views to the setting over in the West.
